Background

DrDabber Stella Wax Extract Pen

Dr. Dabber is a prominent brand in the concentrate pen industry that uses the latest technology in manufacturing their vaporizers. They recently released a Portable eRig, the Boost EVO, that provides a stellar experience in a simple and compact package.

Stella, on the other hand, is the improved version of the Aurora vaporizer. It’s a sleek $100 vape pen with a floating coil design that keeps it cool for longer sessions. The Stella can also adjust the voltage based on the preferred temperature to prevent the concentrate from getting burned. On top of that, it features a vortex-like airflow that dissipates the heat, which results in a cooler and mild vapor. Let’s further look into details on how it performs in the full review below.

Design & Features

The Stella is the epitome of ‘simplicity is beauty.’ It has a straightforward design and function wrapped in a stainless steel body. It looks thicker than most vape pens, and it feels durable that can stand a couple of drops.

Stella has two logos, which are located at the middle and bottom of the device. It lights up and changes to the color of the temperature. The middle button is responsible for changing the temperature setting and activating the device.

Battery

The Stella is equipped with a 600mAh battery and the recharge time is relatively fast since it uses a USB-C charger, which is the standard of most concentrate vapes. It supports pass-through charging, so you can use it while it’s juicing up.

The battery features a TCR (Temperature Coefficient Resistance) that allows the battery to adjust the voltage based on the heating coil’s current temperature. This feature enables the coil to stay at the preferred temperature, which prevents the concentrate from getting ‘burned’ and will result in a more evenly vaped concentrate.

Heating Coil

The coil is made from Alumina Ceramic that can withstand the intensity of high-temperature sessions. Since Alumina has a high purity level, we would expect that Stella will produce more flavorful vapor. It also can withstand thermal stresses and is wear-resistant, so compared to the normal ceramic, it’s more durable and could last for a long time. The Stella also features a ‘floating coil’ that minimizes the coil’s contact point and the pen’s body to prevent the device from getting hot and uncomfortable to use.

Mouthpiece

The mouthpiece has a slim tip that fits comfortably to the lips and feels sturdier than some mouthpieces. It has a magnetic connection, which you can easily pull when loading the concentrate, and it fits snugly when not in use. It features a built-in airflow regulator to reduce the splashing of concentrate during the heating process. The Stella features a Vortex Airflow Technology that makes the vapor travel a spiral direction to dissipate the heat to result in a cooler and less intense vapor.

How To Use

As I’ve mentioned above, Dr. Dabber Stella has an intuitive design and is pretty straightforward to use. To use it, you need to:

  1. Remove the mouthpiece
  2. Put the concentrate into the coil by using the concentrate tool.
  3. Reattach the mouthpiece
  4. To turn on the device, press the power button five times.
  5. Press the power button three times to change the temperature setting.
  6. Press and hold the power button when you inhale from the mouthpiece.

Temperature Setting: 550°F (Green) | 630°F (Cyan) | 775°F (Orange)

Preheat Function: The Stella features a pre-heat function of 460°F (Purple), which can be activated by pressing the power button twice.

Haptic Feedback: Stella vibrates whenever you turn on/off the device and change the temp settings.

Performance & Vapor Quality

As I’ve mentioned above, the Stella features an Alumina Ceramic Coil that heats up faster than the standard ceramic coil and is on par with Quartz (the fastest heating element for vape). The concentrate was efficiently vaped since the TCR technology kept it at a precise temperature and prevented it from getting burned. The draw resistance is pretty good- I can easily inhale the vapor, whether I took a short sip or a long drag.

Ideally, the vapor will be thin & wispy on the lowest setting, while the highest setting will produce intense vapor. As for me, I preheat my concentrate and bump it on the middle setting so that the vapor will be more potent and tasty even if I put a rice-gran amount of concentrate. However, the mouthpiece gets hot when doing back-to-back sessions, which is not a big problem for casual users.

As for the vapor quality, Stella is by far the vape that produces the most stellar vapor I’ve been looking for. The flavor is strong and potent and lingers in my taste bud. It’s also not too strong nor too harsh for beginners and intermediate users alike. All in all, the Stella is one of the top-notch vape pens that produces phenomenal vapor quality.

Bottom Line

Dr. Dabber Stella is a force to be reckoned with in the vape pen industry. It’s simple, well-designed, and can provide fine-quality vapor both for beginners and intermediate vapers. It features a never-before-seen tech like the TCR, floating coil, and Alumina Ceramic Coil, which separates it from the rest of the pack.
